Dr. Pengcheng Hu was born in Feb. 1986 and grew up in the ancient city Jingzhou, Hubei province of China. He went to Tianjin University and received his BEng and Msc in 2008 and 2010, respectively. Afterward, he went to Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where he received PhD after three years’ study and research in the Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. After obtaining his PhD, he stayed in the same research group, working as a Post-doc for about 2.5 years. In Jan. 2016, He left Hong Kong and joined the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Dr. Hu mainly researches on multi-axis tool path generation and optimization, multi-axis adaptive machining, multi-axis inspection path generation and industrial robots. Till now, he has participated and finished 3 RGC projects and 2 ITF projects, all funded by the Hong Kong government (total amount about 10 M HKD). In addition, he continuously served as the reviewer of some famous international journals of his area, such as the Computer-Aided Design, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of Computational Design and so on.
