Dr. Pengxing Yi is currenly an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.Professor Yi earned his B.S. degree in Metallurgical Machinery from Wuhan University of Science & Technology, his M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science & Technology. He joined the HUST faculty in 2009. Prior to taking part in HUST, Dr. Yi had been worked for 6 years in Wuhan Iron & Steel Company as an engineer from 1997 to 2003.
Dr. Pengxing Yi’s research concerns Modeling, Monitoring and Control of Manufacturing Process, Design and Optimization of Complicated System, Environmentally Sustainable Manufacturing, etc. Presently, a major area of Dr. Yi focuses on developing technologies of manufacturing, reuse and remanufacturing for construction machinery, including methods to model and analyze the manufacturing and remanufacturing process, nondestructive testing applicances to assess the quality status of metal parts, and strategies to update the performance of recycled construction machinery.
Dr. Yi teaches Fundamentals of Control Theory in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Testing Technology for undergraduate at HUST, and he also teaches Uncertainty Analysis in Manufacturing and Remanufacturing Process for graduates.
Dr. Yi became a graduate mentor in Mechanical Engineering at HUST in 2010, and now he is mentoring 3 Doctoral students and 6 Master’s students in Mechanical Engineering.
