Youlun Xiong was born in April 04,1939 in Zao yang, Hubei. He is professor and doctoral supervisor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Academician Youlun Xiong finished his bachelor degree in 1962 and master degree in 1966 in Xi'an Jiaotong University. He had been to Sheffield University as visiting scholar from 1988-1989. He was elected academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1995.He was elected as “the national advanced worker” .
