On October 13th, the final of the 4th China College Students’ “Internet Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Xiamen University. Among the 382 teams with over 8000 college students, MSE’s program “The World's Leading Intelligent Industrial Robot Operating System” won a national gold medal and “Henry. Waltz: AI Empowers Traditional Manufacturing” won a national silver medal.
The program “The World's Leading Intelligent Industrial Robot Operating System” was guided by Mr. Ding Yukui from MSE, and it won one of the two national gold medals of Hubei Province. Li Miao, leader of the team, is a master graduate of MSE, who received a Ph.D. degree from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.
The program “Henry. Waltz: AI Empowers Traditional Manufacturing” aims at helping enterprises lower their costs and solve various difficulties and problems. Leader of this team is Liu Tao, who received his Ph.D. degree from MSE. The Henry. Waltz Company was founded by the doctor group of The State Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology in MSE.
It is known that since its launch in March, the Competition has attracted 2.65 million college students from 640,000 teams of 2278 universities and colleges from mainland China, as well as over 700 teams from 50 countries all over the world. Number of students took part in the Competition this year is larger than the total of the previous 3 years’ Competitions.
As the only university in Hubei Province which won the gold medal of the Competition, HUST achieved 2 national gold medals and 3 national silver medals.
