On November 7th, the national final of the 11th UXDA（User eXperience Design Award）was held in Shanghai. Under the guidance of their teacher Mr. Wu Lei, 3 students (Pang Rui, Shang Xinyi and Yu Linwei) from the Department of Industrial Design won a national Second Prize and “Special Award for Best Operation Planning” for their design of a recycling system of old clothes. Mr. Wu Lei won the “Best Adviser Award”.
The UXDA is a very important design competition nationwide in industrial design field, which is of great influence to the product design teaching of MSE. The prize the 3 students won is the best over these years for the department, which is very inspiring. It is known that over 4000 attendees from 871 teams of 129 universities applied for the competition, and only 29 teams reached the national final after 9 months’ competitions and selections.
The 3 students won the First Prize of central China (the only one in central China) under the guidance of Mr. Wu Lei, and reached the national final. After a few months' efforts and improvements, the team showed their skills and practical abilities nationwide.
The team's participation of this competition was funded by the teaching reform project of Hubei Province "the Research and Practice of Professional Courses of Product Designing Based on PBL Teaching Modes" (Project No. 2017055, Person in Chair: Wu Lei). It is also one of the interim teaching results of the project.
