Annual Meeting of the National Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology Held in 2019

On December 26, 2019, the First Session of the 4th Academic Committee and the 3rd Steering Experts Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology (hereinafter “the Laboratory”) was held in Songshan Lake, Dongguan. The meeting was presided over by Academician Ren Luquan, Chairman of the Academic Committee, and Academician Zhu Di, Vice Chairman of the Committee. 29 members of the Academic Committee and the Steering Experts Committee, and other invited experts attended the meeting. Some fixed members of the Laboratory also attended the meeting. Prof. Shao Xinyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), welcomed the experts attending the meeting on behalf of HUST in his welcome speech, and awarded appointment letters to the members of the Academic Committee and the Steering Experts Committee. Academician Ding Han delivered a speech in which he sincerely thanked the experts for their guidance and support to the Laboratory.

Prof. Yin Zhouping, Director of the Laboratory, made the Work Report of 2019 on behalf of the Laboratory, in which he summarized the progress and work of 2019 of the Laboratory, and elaborated the thoughts and plan for the future development of it. Associate Prof. Yang Hua, Prof. Xu Jianfeng and Prof.Chen Xuedong gave academic reports respectively.

The experts at the meeting had a heated discussion and reviewed the Laboratory's work of 2019, fully affirming its achievements. Members believed that in the past year, the Laboratory has undertaken a number of major basic research projects based on the cutting-edge discipline of digital manufacturing equipment and technology while closely combined with the major national needs and the forefront of discipline development. In 2019, the Laboratory has made remarkable achievements in fields like high-efficiency and high-precision machining of complex curved surface, high-power laser welding, flexible electronic manufacturing, vibration suppression of high-end equipment, ultra precision manufacturing, nano measurement, and basic theory of digital workshop. It has also made new achievements in the construction of talent team and experimental facilities. A number of outstanding young talents have emerged, and research strength and research conditions have been significantly improved.

The Academic Committee and the Steering Experts Committee have reviewed and voted for the 81 open-foundation projects of the Laboratory of 2020. They also deliberated and approved the Annual Meeting Minutes of the Academic Committee.
