Seven Projects Led by HUST Won the National Science and Technology Award, Ranking the Second Among Universities

On January 10, the 2019 National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held. As the first completion unit, HUST won seven awards which made a new record, tied for second place among all the universities. In addition, as the third participating unit, HUST won a Second Prize of the award.

As the leading unit, HUST has won 7 awards, namely a First Prize and 6 Second Prizes. The team of Prof. Li Liang from Wuhan National High Magnetic Field Center and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of HUST, won a First Prize with  “the Pulsed High Magnetic Field National Major Science and Technology Infrastructure”. The team of Prof. Chen Xuedong from MSE of HUST, won a Second Prize with "the Complex Vibration Suppression Technologies and Devices with Near-zero Transmissibility and Ultra-stability in Wide Frequency Domain". Besides, a special-using project completed by another MSE team won a Second Prize. Other HUST winners of the Second Prize were teams from the School of Electronic Information and Communications and Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, the School of Material Science and Engineering, the School of Energy and Power Engineering, and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

In addition, the project which Prof. Tang Ming’s team from the School of Optical and Electronic Information participated in (as the third unit) won a Second Prize.
