A Paper of Prof. Gao Liang’s Team of MSE Won the EAAI “Paper Prize Award – Practice”

Recently, the Awards Committee of the International Federation of Automatic Control (shorted as IFAC) sent a congratulatory message to Prof. Gao Liang’s team of MSE for their paper “A hybrid multi-objective grey wolf optimizer for dynamic scheduling in a real-world welding industry”, which was published in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence (shorted as EAAI, the journal of IFAC) in 2017, won the EAAI “Paper Prize Award – Practice”, and would be announced at the 21st IFAC International Conference to be held in Berlin, Germany from July 12 to 17, 2020. Lu Chao, First Author of the paper, got his Ph.D. degree from MSE in 2017.


The EAAI Paper Prize Award election was held every 3 years, and only 2 papers would be selected for the award (one for theory and the other for practice). The above-mentioned paper was the one for practice award among all EAAI papers from 2017 to 2019.

Founded in 1957, IFAC is an international academic organization with national organizations as its members. IFAC sponsors 8 journals including Automatica, Control Engineering Practice, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, etc., among which Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence is a high-level journal in intelligent control technology field, dedicating itself to promoting and spreading innovative research achievements in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.
