Professor Yin was born in September 1972 and received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China, in 1994 and 2000, respectively. And then, he was appointed the associate professor, full professor and doctoral supervisor in 2002, 2004 and 2005, respectively. Now, He is the Vice Head of the State Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technologyand the Vice-President of School of Mechanical Science and Engineering,HUST. He received the China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists Award in 2006. He has been a member of the Chang jiang Scholars Program since 2009. He was selected as one of the leading hi-tech talents by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China in 2013, and received the Ho Leung Ho Lee Innovation Award in 2014.

Prof. Yin is the secretary-generaland managing director of the artificial intelligence institute of Hubei province, the committee member of intelligent robots of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, the member of ASME/IEEE. He is the member of editor board of 《Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering》 and Vibration, test and diagnosis》, and the peer reviewer of 973/863 Project, 《IEEE Trans. On Robotics & Automation》、《Computer-aided Design》、《China Science》、《Journal of Mechanical Engineering》.

He is principal investigator for projects sponsored by General Program and Major Program of National Science Foundation, National Basic Research Project of China (973). He is leading a research group and conducting research in the electronic manufacturing equipment and technology, including printed electronics and radio frequency identification (RFID) packaging. He has published more than 100 SCI/EI papers which are cited more than 300 time by other in SCI data. He published 3 monographs, is authorized more 20 invention patents. He was awarded The second prize of national technological innovation (Leader, 2013), The Second prize of National Prize of Natural Science (No.3, 2012), The Second prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress Award (No.2, 2004), and other 5 items of Province level award, "Science & Technology Award for Chinese Youth", the national outstanding postdoctoral, New Century Talent Supporting Project by education ministry, the Chinese mechanical engineering society youth science and technology achievement award.
