Gong Shihua, the professor and doctoral supervisor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, was born on August 1968, in Tianmen Hubei China. Now, he works for National engineering research center of digital Manufacturing equipment in School of Mechanical Science and Engineering.

He was graduated from Beijing Agricultural Engineering University (now China Agricultural University) in 1990, majored in Electric Automation, and receive bachelor's degree. Then, he worked in Hubei Yichang Electrical Instrument Factory (now Yichang Machine Tool Group). In 1996, He got master’s degree of Electromechanical Control and Automation in Huazhong University of science and technology, and then, worked there as a lecturer. In 2008, he got his doctor’s degree of Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation in Huazhong University of science and technology.

He has studied on digital equipment control and computer numerical control for a long time. For the major national needs, he was engaged in studying the key technology of the large-scale, high-load, multi-axis CNC machine tools and developed a dual-core seven-five axis machine control system with upper and lower computers, which fully meet the needs of digital equipment control. In addition, He research the multi-axis interpolation algorithm based on the location of the laser focus and other laser processing technology, which has solved lots of problems in welding process like real-time detection, multi-axis dynamic compensation and so on, and realized adaptive tracking control in three-dimensional space. In order to adapt to the trend of high-end electronics manufacturing equipment, he studied and developed a control system of detecting and sorting optoelectronic chips, which has realized complex crafts process, accurate timing and high-speed high-precision motion control in optoelectronics manufacturing process.

He has won the Second Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress three times, and the First Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress in Hubei Province twice. Moreover, he has published more than 30 papers.
