HE Lingsong is a Professor of School of Mechanical Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.HE received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University in 1983, a M.S. in precision instrument from Sichuan University in 1986, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1993.

His research area includes computer virtual instrument, smartphone virtual instrument, mobile health and remote diagnosis technology of machine. In his research work, he proposed a reconfigurable virtual instrument system and markup language, which can be adopted to design the browser style’s virtual instrument for both computer and smartphone.

Professor HE Lingsong teaches “Engineering Measurement Technology” for undergraduate students and “Digital Signal Processing” for graduate students. With the help of his research work in virtual instrument, he proposed an experiment based teaching method for these two course and he said “we should let knowledge can be seen, heard and touched by students”. His teaching method and courseware has been used in about three hundreds of university and college. For his excellent work in teaching, he got the sixth national excellent teacher award of higher education of China.
