Professor Hu was born in May 1993 and received the Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China, in 2018. And then, he worked as a Senior Engineer at Shanghai Huawei Technologies Co.,Ltd, a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and a Research Scientist at RIKEN in Japan, respectively. He was selected in National Overseas High Level (Youth) Talents Program, as well as other talent programs. He was appointed full professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in May 2024.

He is interested in Digital and Intelligent Manufacturing Systems and has participated across multiple key R&D programs, including the Singapore National Robotics Programme etc. He has one book published by Springer, over 50 publications, and seven patents. He also served as the Guest/Associate Editor for several journals and as the conference Session Chair.
