Dr. Long Bai was born in Yanji, China, in 1987. He received the B.Sc. degree in electronic and information science and technology and the M.Eng. degree in dynamical systems and control from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 2010 and 2013, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Bristol, Bristol, U.K., in 2018.
From 2018 to 2020, he was a postdoctoral research associate with the Ultrasonics and NDT Group, University of Bristol. In May 2020, He joined the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology where he works as an associate researcher. His research interests include ultrasonic array imaging, signal processing, and defect characterization. He has published more than 10 papers in leading academic journals including IEEE Trans. Ultrason. Ferroelectr. Freq. Control, NDT E Int., and J. Acoust. Soc. Am. Between April 2014 and September 2017, he worked on a research project which was part of the UK Research Centre in Non-Destructive Evaluation (RCNDE). Between October 2017 and February 2020, he worked as the main University of Bristol researcher in the European Horizon 2020 project ADVISE (ADVanced Inspection of complex StructurEs).
