Academic Areas: Kinematics modelling, motion control, tool path generation and optimization, geometric error calibration and cutting process optimization of multi-axis CNC machine tools and robots.

Jixiang Yang is currently an Associate Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from HUST in 2015. He was a visiting Ph.D. student at the University of British Columbia (UBC) for two years between 2012 and 2014. He was a Postdoc-research in HUST and UBC between March 2015 and February 2019. His Ph.D. thesis was awarded as an excellent doctoral dissertation by Education Department of Hubei province, China, and the HIWIN excellent doctoral dissertation by Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. He has completed one China Postdoctoral Science Foundation and is holding another National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published 18 journal papers as the first or corresponding author on International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, Precision Engineering, ASME Journal of Manufacturing Science and engineering, Mechatronics, etc. (Webpage of google scholar: https://scholar.google.ca/citations?user=2F0zoAsAAAAJ&hl=en). He has served as the reviewer for 15 international journals, such as ASME Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering, International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, Robotics and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, Precision Engineering, etc.
