At the invitation of Prof. Wu Zhigang of the State Key Lab of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology, Assis. Prof. Cheng Wang from Missouri University of Science and Technology visited MSE on June 19, 2017. He delivered a report entitled “Manipulation of Micro-particles with Acoustic and Magnetic Fields” at Room B214 of the Advanced Manufacturing Building.
In the report, Assis. Prof. Cheng Wang first introduced the important application and significance of microfluidic chip in biological and biomedicine. Then he introduced a method of micro particle fluid manipulation model for acoustic and magnetic field. By simulation and experiment, the fine particles are sorted, enriched and aggregated by the sound field, and the non-spherical particles are separated by magnetic field. After the report, Assis. Prof. Cheng Wang made in-depth discussion with the audience on the specific issues of the report.
