Prof. Tielin SHI 、Youmin HU、Qi XIA and Dr. Yongfeng ZHENG have attended the VII European Congress on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences and Engineering, which successfully held in creta maris conference center during 05/06 to 11/06, crete of greece. Pro.f Qi XIA presented a report titled “Multi-type Border Method of Structural Topology Optimization Based on Level Set”, which applied the topology optimization to parallel optimization with muti-type boundaries. At the same time, Dr. Yongfeng ZHENG presented the “Cross-section Topology Optimization of Lorry Crane Telescopic Boom”, which applied the topology optimization to the enterprise project, and combined the theoretical research and engineering applications.

This congress is one of the most highest level focused on computational mechanics. Which attracting 2000 regarding scholars with home and abroad, it contains the following research fields:

Advanced CAD、CAM and CAE methods; Damage、fracture and failure problem analysis; Fluid problem and high performance aided design; Muti-disciplinary, structure couping and cantact problem; Engineering application of advanced material; Multi-scale and numerical simulation; High-dimensional structure order reduction, optimization and control; Uncertainty analysis and error estimate; Structure stability analysis and dynamic analysis.

Prof. Tielin SHI 、Youmin HU、Qi XIA met the senior researcher Piotr Breitkopf of CNRS、Prof. Gregoire Allaire and Dr. G. Michailidis of Polytechnic University of Paris, France、Dr. Peter Dunning of University of Aberdeen, UK、Prof Jihong ZHU of Northwestern polytechnical university and Prof. Zhen LUO of Sydney technology university. They had a wide and deep exchanges over their latest research. In addition, discuss the joint training of graduate and renowned scholar access, and so on.

The three teachers are funded by promoting international cooperation program of college of mechanical engineering.
