From 28th of June to 4th of July, our Prof. Guanglan Liao and Mr. Bo Sun attend the “International conference on Advances in Functional Materials (AFM 2015)” which was held at Stony Brook University, New York State USA. They give an oral presentation on “Iridium Oxide Modified Quantum Dots Sensitized Nanostructure for Solar Water Splitting” under symposia “S4: Photocatalytic and electrochemical water splitting”. In this presentation, they demonstrate a multiple layer sensitization technique which can improve the photocatalytic activity as well as the stability.
The organizing committee invites the nobel laureate prof. Alan J. Heeger and Prof. Robert Howard Grubbs to deliver the plenary lecture. Besides, many famous scientists, like Prof. Zhonglin Wang, gave a talk in the keynote session. The conference was composite by the following seven topics: (1) Advances in Multifunctional Composite materials, (2) Advances in Thin Films, (3) Advances in Polymers and Ceramics, (4) Advances in Energy Storage and Conversion Devices, (5) Advances in Biosensors and Biomaterials, (6) Advances in Catalysis Low dimensional, (7) Nano and 2D materials. This conference attracted intensive attention of researchers from many fields, including energy, materials, electronics, chemistry and medical science. Hundreds of researchers from 75 countries attended this conference.
During the conference, Prof. Liao, Dr. Haixue Yan from Queen Mary, University of London, and Dr. Xinhui Lu from Chinese University of Hong Kong had a broad and in-depth exchange of views on their latest research results, and then they discussed the potential of cooperation in the future.
