On Dec. 6th, 2017 the first Vice-rector of South Ural State University (SUSU) in Russia, Prof. Andrey Radionov, along with the Head of Mechatronics Department, Associate Prof. Vadim Gasiyarov, and the Head of International Mobility Office, Ms. Tatiana Vasileva visited MSE. Assistants to Dean, Prof. Xiu Jianfeng and Ms. Zhang Fen, the Director of the Undergraduate Academic Office, Tan Qiong and the Director of the Office of Discipline Construction and Internationalization, Gan Huijie, have attended the activity and exchanged ideas.
Prof. Xu Jianfeng welcomed the guests and provided an overview of MSE, including organization structure, departments and majors, faculty, undergraduate education, scientific researches, and policies, programs and achievements in international exchange and cooperation. Prof. Andrey Radionov introduced some basic information about the Mechatronics Department at the School of Engineering, South Ural State University, and policies on international education and short-term exchange programs. He said that there are tremendous opportunities for cooperation between the two schools and that he saw this visit as an important opportunity to advance each other’s relationships on issues of student exchange and possible research collaboration. Afterwards, the two sides had an in-depth discussion in terms of student exchange and has reached a preliminary agreement.
After the discussion, the delegation was invited to visit State Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology of MSE.
South Ural State University is one of the largest comprehensive educational institutions in Russia. It is the center of education, science, culture and sports in the Chelyabinsk region. It is among the top-ten of the Russian universities according to the state rating of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. In September, 2016, HUST signed a student exchange agreement with South Ural State University.
