On June 29th -30th, the 4th International Symposium of Flexible and Stretchable Electronics （ISFSE 2018）was successfully held in Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The symposium was sponsored by The State Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology, MSE of HUST, and co-organized by Hubei Association for Artificial Intelligence. Over 100 experts from 6 countries were presented at this symposium.
Academician Wang Zhonglin from Georgia Tech. and Academician Xiong Youlun from HUST are general chairs of this symposium. Topics of the symposium include but are not limited to design and manufacturing of flexible electronic system, materials and integration, soft robots and their application, energy harvesting technologies. The symposium invited famous experts in flexible electronics and materials to give 3 plenary lectures, 6 keynote speeches, 21 invited reports, 8 presentations, round table discussions and 28 posters.
On the morning of June 29th, the grand opening ceremony of the symposium was held. Academician Xiong Youlun gave a welcome speech and declared the symposium open. Academician Wang Zhonglin from Georgia Tech., Prof. Zhao Xuanhe from MIT, Academician Huang Yonggang from Northeast University of USA, gave plenary lectures. 5 excellent posters were voted at the symposium and won the Best Poster Award.
The ISFSE has been an academic symposium with a wide influence in the field of flexible electronics, which provides a high-level communication platform for famous experts and students. The symposium make great contributions to improving China’s innovative basic research and the application of advanced electronic technologies.
