In order to help international students better integrate into Chinese culture and campus atmosphere, cultivate international students to understand China, feel intimate to China, and China-loving ideals, MSE has arranged a series of activities both in and out of class for international students.
Aiming at further understand of the splendid inclusive traditional Chinese culture and profound historical origin, School of MSE has organized the freshmen to visit Hubei Provincial Museum on Nov 15 .This activity greatly encouraged international students’ enthusiasm to learn Chinese culture and Chinese language. During the visit, the international students listened to narrator explanation carefully and communicate earnestly with narrator by Chinese that they have learned, and actively absorb culturally knowledge.
In order to provide more learning opportunities and international academic atmosphere, the School of MSE specially invited professor Mehmet Fatih Tasgetiren from the University of Yassar in Turkey, to deliver an academic lecture on scientific writing. The lecture was held on November 15th in classroom A309 of the Mechanical Building. The students who attended this lecture were not only from the School of MSE but also from other schools. The classroom that could hold only 30 people was packed with students, a lot of whom had to stand and listen. Professor Fatih gave in-depth explanations on how to write scientific papers and publish in international journals. He also expressed unique insights on how to do scientific research. There was a lively atmosphere at the lecture as Professor Fatih and students interacted closely. The students listened with great interest and took notescarfully. After the lecture,Professor Fatih was surrounded by students asking more questionsandProfessor Fatih was happy to answer.All the international students felt benefited greatly from this academic lecture.This activity has increased the enthusiasm of the international students for scientific research and deepened international academic exchanges MSE.
