From December 10th to 11th, a group of staff went to Berlin, Germany to attend the ASIIN 5th Global Conference, including Prof. He Lingsong of MSE, Ms. Tan Qiong, Director of the Educational Administration Office of MSE, and Ms.Ling Ling, Lecturer of MSE and two staff from other departments of HUST.
ASIIN is an authentic professional accreditation organization in fields of engineering, information science, natural science and mathematics. It is also the founder and a member of European Accredited Engineering Project. The theme of this conference is “The dawning of a new era of Higher Education quality assurance – what can we expect from the future?”, which centered on topics like the latest developments of higher education in the world, the mutual recognition of higher education, measurement of the impact of internal and external accreditation, as well as accreditation and student achievement.
The conference helped the three teachers of MSE learn the requirements and procedures of ASIIN engineering accreditation as well as experience of higher education student achievement assurance in countries and areas in Europe, America, Asia and Africa. The teachers also had a better understanding about the important role that teacher training played in quality assurance in higher education institutes in Europe and America, and methods and experience of strengthening teacher training, which will help MSE’s work in related aspects, thus to improve the quality of engineering education and students cultivation.
