Siemens-HUST Workshop for Job-shop Scheduling Model and Algorithm Held in MSE

On October 13, the Siemens-HUST Workshop for Job-shop Scheduling Model and Algorithm, co-sponsored by MSE Professor Gao Liang’s team and Siemens Corporate Technology (China), was held in MSE.

The opening ceremony of the workshop was hosted by Prof. Gao Liang, and Dr. Fu Ling, R & D Director of Siemens Corporate Technology (China), made a speech. Afterwards, MSE Prof. Li Xinyu, and Dr. Zhang Chunjiang chaired the workshop. 13 graduate students from Prof. Gao Liang’s team introduced in detail various types of job-shop scheduling model and algorithm. The two sides carried out heated discussion and exchange on detailed issues and techniques, exploring the development trend of this area and the manufacturing industry.

Prof. Gao Liang’s team have long been engaged in the theoretical research and application of job-shop scheduling. At the workshop, representatives of Siemens raised problems and confusions they encountered, and the two sides reached a cooperation on solving the corporate’s problems about scheduling, as well as in combining information, model and algorithm. Both sides also agreed to enhance communication on project cooperation, promoting the deep integration of the academic and industrial circles and helping industrial production to move forward with speed, flexibility and efficiency.
