On November 29, 2020, the final of the 3rd China Industrial Engineering & Lean Management Competition sponsored by FAW Toyota was successfully held. The competition was co-founded by Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and the Teaching Guiding Committee for the Industrial Engineering Major of Higher Education Institutions, the Ministry of Education. In the competition, 4 BS’ 17 students (Qing Zhongfei, Ke Shenqiang, Du Zongwei and Si Jinghua) majored in industrial engineering from the Operations Research and Optimization Team of MSE, under the guidance of Prof. Li Xinyu and Prof. Gao Liang, won a first prize for undergraduates (only 3 first prizes nationwide).
With the theme of “Lean Intelligence & Integrated Innovation”, this year’s competition started from September 30, and activities were held both online and offline. The official system of the competition received 401 works from 125 organizations of 24 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. This is one of the two top competitions in the national industrial engineering field, which aims to push forward the popularity and application of industrial engineering & lean management methods and technology, broaden students’ vision, and establish a platform of exchanging experience and exhibiting achievements of industrial engineering & lean management for college teachers and students as well as the public.
