The State Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology
The State Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology, was approved for establishment by the Ministry of Science and Technology in July 2006. It’s predecessor was ministry of education key laboratory of intelligent manufacturing technology. The lab relies on Huazhong University of Science and Technology and its competent authority is China National Ministry of Education. The lab was evaluated as good in Chinese State Key Lab evaluation in 2008 and passed the national assessment of experts organized by Ministry of Science and Technology in 2009 and it was evaluated as excellent in 2013. The director of the Academic Commission is Academician Zhong Jue from ZhongNan University, the director of Expert Commission is Academician Xiong You lun from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the director of the lab is Academician Ding Han from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the honorary director of the lab is Academician Li Pei gen from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
The State Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology is one of the most important labs for applying basic research, High-end equipment research and development and application, High-level professional and technical personnel training and International academic cooperation and exchanges in digital manufacturing at present.The lab aims to meet the nation’s great demand in high-end equipment manufacturing of transport,energy ，information and so on and foucuses on basic theory and key technology research of digital manufacturing . The main research areas of the lab include the following four aspects: the basic theory of digital manufacturing ，advanced processing technology and methods, key technology of digital manufacturing equipment and digital manufacturing systems. The lab has important international influences in basic research of digital manufacturing and industrial advantage in high-end equipment manufacturing.
